Saturday, May 14th the Common Table is hosting a “Belgian Tea Party”. Old beer will be dumped like so much tea into the Boston Harbor, and to mark this occasion they’ll be offering a whole host of rare Belgian Ales, and Belgian style ales. Oh, and they’ll also be dumping, yes, dumping, their last Keg of Stella Artois.

Plenty of Ommegang products will be tapped, including a rare tapping of the Ommegang/Brasserie d’Achouffe collaboration, Gnomegang. Brasserie d’Achouffe’s own products will also be tapped as will Maredsous’ Dubbel and Tripel.

Mmm, sweet, spicy, yeasty. Yes, I’m still talking about beer.

As for the last of the Stella, well, they claim to be taking a stand against bland lagers, and while they make a point to admit it’s a fine product, it’s also not what they’re about.

Kudos to them for standing up for what they believe in!

The Stella gets poured ( out ) at noon, and the Belgians start flowing shortly there after.
