At long last, the Double Bastard has arrived in DFW. After years of trouble with the TABC, Stone’s Double Bastard has finally been label approved and is beginning to arrive on DFW area shelves as of April 6th. Places like Lone Star Beverages in Carrollton are among the first to get a shipment, but it should be widely available at most retail sites dealing in fine craft beer shortly.

In addition, the Belgo Old Guardian has finally arrived in Texas shelves as well, nearly a month after the arrival of the Classic Old Guardian. The Belgo is differentiated from the Classic by the addition of a Belgian yeast strain. This is the same yeast strain they used when brewing their Cali-Belgique “Belgian IPA.”

Here at DFWHops we’ve been eagerly awaiting the arrival of both these beers, and now they’re here. Go out and get a bottle!

As well as the bottled form, both the Double Bastard and the Belgo Old Guardian are also making the rounds at the local craft Beer Bars. The Meddlesome Moth recently featured both on draft. This week is Ale Week at the Moth, so even if they run out of Double Bastard and Belgo they’re sure to have something special. And at the Common Table on the 16th, they’re having a Stone event sure to include at least the Belgo.
