This Saturday, June 16th, head on down to Lake Saucer…er…Lake Ray Hubbard for the Flying Saucer on the Lake’s 3rd Annual Beer Fest. Or as they call it, Beer FeAst…heh, clever. Well, at least the beer’s good.
And this year there’s more then ever, with 60 craft beers on tap, including some real Texas rarities, and beers that have never made it to DFW before. Among others expect vintage 2010 Saison Brett from Boulevard, Whiskey Rodeo from Jester King, and Vertical Jewbilation from He’Brew. Those three are all among their “secret” rare tappings, which will be announced on Twitter all day long. Or, if you’ve got a VIP ticket, you’ll know the schedule early. Feel free to share it with the rest of us, eh?
As for the rest of the beers expect stuff like Founders/Green Flash Lynchpin White IPA. ( The first Founders to officially make it to Texas, even if it’s thanks to Green Flash. ) There’s also Thirsty Planet Franklin BBQ Smoked Porter, Ranger Creek Strawberry Milk Stout, St Fueillian Speciale, and many many more.
The event starts at 2pm sharp, and they advise you be there on time to get some of the rarer beers. Bring some sunscreen, and be sure to drink plenty of water too, cause it’s going to be sunny, and in the mid 90’s.
Go Drink some!
