Tuesday, January 24, at the Meddlesome Moth in Dallas, they’ll be tapping the very first keg of Dallas’ newest craft brewery. These are exciting times as the Dallas craft beer scene seems to be going from famine to feast in very short order.
The brewery in question is Peticolas Brewing, founded and run by one-man beer machine Michael Peticolas. And the beer in question is his very, very delicious Velvet Hammer, described to me as a an Imperial Red. I was lucky enough to get to taste an earlier test batch, and it quite impressive. Expect a lotta hops, a lotta malt, and a lotta balance between the two, without a lot of alcohol burn despite the high ABV.
So do yourself a favor, head on down to the Meddlesome Moth tomorrow at 5 and try a pint yourself. You won’t be sorry.
Then, Thursday the 26th, the Common Table will also be tapping their first Peticolas beer, as well as continuing to sell their increasingly stellar Deep Ellum brewing line up.
So what are you waiting for? You knew the drill…Go drink some!
